BTS Holds an online concert 'Map of the Soul: One'

Group BTS (BTS) met fans around the world through an online concert. They felt sorry for the situation where face-to-face performances were impossible due to coronavirus infection (new type coronavirus infection), but rather consoled their fans and vowed to "go ahead together."

BTS (RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, Jungkook) held an online concert "BTS MAP OF THE SOUL ON:E" on the afternoon of the 10th.

It was the first concert in four months since "The Live," which was held on June 14. Initially, the concert was scheduled to be held both online and offline at the same time, but due to the aftermath of the Corona 19, it will only be held live streaming.

Like the title "BTS Map of the Soul: One," the concert, which means a single ONE online edition performance, was expected to cost eight times more than the previous "Bangbang Concert The Live." Four large stages, technologies such as augmented reality (AR) and extended reality (XR), and six angles are displayed on a single screen to maximize the sense of realism while maximizing the strength of online performances.

Following the grand performance of the Marching Band and the intense performance of the dancers, BTS opened the door with "ON." BTS, which created a more intense atmosphere with "N.O., even showed a dance break, raising the fever of the performance to its fullest from the beginning. The "We Are Bulletproof Pt.2" stage, which has an impressive powerful performance, instantly increased immersion and marked the start of the concert.

After the opening, the members greeted each other with a heavy look as they heard cheers with fans watching the performance on the screen in real time. Following RM's greeting of "Welcome ARMYs from all over the world," Jungkook said, "I have so much prepared that I want to show you more of the rest of the stage as soon as possible. I hope you have a happy time today," he said.

In particular, BTS expressed great pleasure in meeting ARMY (official fandom name) even online when face-to-face performances are impossible. RM said, "This concert was prepared about a year ago after the tour last year. I was sorry that the tour couldn't be carried out due to an unexpected situation, but I was able to show it to you in an 'on-touch edition' like this.'

Jin then said, "I communicated with ARMY through chatting at 'Bangbang Concert', but today I can meet them on the screen," and Jimin showed constant fan love, saying, "This is the prettiest sound in the world." The solo stage started with RM's "PERSONA," the intro song of the fourth full-length album "MAP OF THE SOUL: 7," and ended with "Ego" by J-Hope, an outro. Jin played "Moon" on the rising stage set of the little prince. Planets embodied by AR effects floated on the stage, adding to the mysterious atmosphere. V's solo song, "Inner Child," drew attention by installing a merry-go-round in the center of the stage, while J-Hope's "Ego" also featured a sports car.

"Boy With Luv" is decorated with performances using umbrellas, as was shown in the last "Bangbang Concert." After the song, V said, "I'm touched to be able to show you a happy performance with the members." "I've tried to truly melt the seven years since my debut in 'Map of the Soul: One' and the various worries and performances of each member," RM said. "Thank you for always walking with me," Sugar said.

Technology was concentrated at the end of the performance. The selection of the song, which compresses seven years of BTS, adds an AR effect that breaks the physical boundaries of the stage. The "DNA" and "Dope" stages dominated the view with their production that seemed to transcend space. The stage where the members are standing was expressed like an elevator, giving the impression that the space was being moved from place to place, creating admiration. On the stage of "No More Dream," AR effects appeared in line with the members' movements, creating admiration. A strong fire rose in the chorus, and a baseball flew in line with the lyrics "Doljikgu."

Since then, BTS has performed "Butterfly," "RUN," "Dynamite," and "We Are Bulletproof: The Eternal" as an encore.

J-Hope said, "I feel so good these days. To be honest, 80 percent is good, and 20 percent seems to be disappointing. This non-face-to-face online performance was a big challenge for us as well, and it was an attempt," he said. "From a singer's point of view, there is a great regret that he cannot communicate with his eyes. I don't think this regret should go away for the performer. I want to show our true selves as soon as possible as the Corona 19 is over," he said.

Jimin even shed tears. "I couldn't concentrate since the encore," he said. "In fact, I felt a lot of unfairness before I prepared for this performance. I hope all the things we prepared to show you will be delivered to you. I'm so grateful to all of you for always supporting and waiting for me like this," he said.

RM said in English, "We are strong. "We'll find our way," he said. "If we get lost, let's map again and move on. I love you from the bottom of my heart." Jin said, "I remember what Han said.
